THE GREEN TREE ZOO
While we are at home, maintaining social distancing, let's liven our home habitats and download a coloring page or two from the links below, or get creative and
draw one of your favorite animals. Make as many as you like. . .
THEN HANG YOUR DRAWING IN YOUR FRONT WINDOW OR DOOR! POST YOUR PICTURE ON GREEN TREE'S FACEBOOK PAGE!
As folks are walking through their neighborhoods, they can take in the variety of wild creatures in the
windows. Check out the animals in your neighbors' houses or transform your personal habitat in to zoo for something to do! Post your animal drawings on Green Tree’s Facebook page!
Liven up your walks! Liven up the borough! Dress up your windows with wildness! Roar with pleasure in helping our community create happiness during this unprecendented hiatus in our everyday life (while maintaining social distancing!)

A Message from Waste Management
Because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Federal and State Declarations of Emergency have been issued that recommend non-essential employees
shelter in place and/or work from home when possible
to promote social distancing. As a result, Waste
Management has significantly reduced its “field” work
force and is focusing on the performance of essential
services during this unprecedented emergency.
Because of its importance to the health and safety of
our society, municipal solid waste collection and
disposal is deemed an “essential service” in most
instances, and so Waste Management’s employees
dedicated to collecting and disposing of trash are in
the field continuing to perform this critical function.
In order for Waste Management to maintain its focus on
municipal solid waste collection and disposal, and due
to the reduced number of employees in the field,
effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, Waste Management
is temporarily suspending the performance of the
following services, which are non-essential
during this period of emergency:
- Bulk Collection: Furniture, carpet, mattresses, appliances, etc.
- Yard Waste Collection: Grass clippings, brush, tree limbs, etc.
When the Declarations of Emergency and social
distancing recommendations have been eased and
Waste Management’s work force returns to
pre-pandemic levels, these services will be restarted.
Waste Management will provide notice when the
service(s) will resume.
- All trash/refuse must be bagged & sealed and wherever possible) placed in containers. ITEMS NOT BAGGED OR PLACED IN CONTAINER WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.
- All recyclable materials must be placed inside recycling bin (including cardboard). ITEMS LEFT OUTSIDE OF BIN WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.
We have been a part of this community for many
years and know that together we will be resilient.
Thank you for your partnership during this
A MESSAGE FROM THE GREEN TREE POLICE DEPARTMENT
The COVID-19 pandemic is causing vast modification to operations in both the public and private sectors. The Green Tree Police Department will be making temporary changes in our handling of non-emergency calls to better protect our officers and the public we serve.
When possible, officers will be taking non-priority reports and addressing calls via telephone. If officers respond to a home or business, we may ask community members to step outside to speak with us. Officers will be utilizing social distancing practices, so please do not be offended if the officer does not shake hands and speaks with you from a greater distance than normal. Officers may approach certain situations wearing masks or other protective gear. This doesn't mean we know a person is infected, it means we are taking extra precautions to ensure community safety.
Green Tree Police officers will maintain our regular patrol activities and public safety emergency response. If you have an emergency, call 911. If you need to speak to a police officer to report a crime or other complaint, call 412.279.6911.
